Windows 2000 FAQ :

Is DSN available for ODBC if running ASP pages with MS Access database?
Yes, we do add DSN information if required. Please contact our technical team for details on how your account can be DSN enabled in order to allow you to built you own database application.

Your database should be uploaded into "/db" folder, if this folder does not exist please inform us. This folder will be set to non-browseable for security purpose.

Does your Windows 2000 / 2003 servers support ASP/ASP.NET?
Yes, we do support full native ASP and ASP.NET on IIS 5.0/6.0 servers.
/bin is also enabled for ASP.NET custom DLLs.

My ASP scripts won't work, what went wrong?
Unlike CGI scripts, ASP do not require execute permissions to work correctly. For the Web Server to run the scripts correctly, ASP scripts must use the .asp filename extension.

Does your Windows 2000 / 2003 servers support PHP4?
Yes, we do support PHP4 on our fast response NT servers. The default file extension must be ".php" or ".php4". If you have uploaded your PHP script with this extension and it still doesn't work. Please contact us, your site may need to be enabled for PHP scripting.

Why is there no CGI-BIN folder in my web directory?
The folder for cgi-bin is mainwebsite_cgi (/var/www/cgi-bin)

What is the path of my default web directory for my domain?
Personal web dir is /home/username
Root web dir is /var/www/html

My CGI's won't work, what went wrong?
- Make sure to have CHMOD your CGI's to the correct value (e.g.:755).
- Upload your CGI files as "text" file via FTP. (ASCll mode)
- Your CGI file extension must be either ".pl" or ".cgi".

My PHP scripts won't work, what went wrong?

How can I add a mailing list?
You can add a mailing list by logging in to your control panel (CP).
(Mailing list for windows hosting by default is not enable, you will need to send us an email in for us to enable it) (Hosting plan above e-budget is entitle for one mailing list, addition add on will be charge at $8/mailing list/month)

While trying to access the "siteadmin" I get "ERROR 700 -- The proxy-cache server is not configurated properly for SSL ..." What is wrong?
Exclude your domain name from using a proxy server. Here a example if using IE4.0 or above:

  1. Go to "Tools" -> "Internet Options"
  2. Click on "Connections"
  3. Choose your connection (Dial-Up or LAN)
  4. Choose "settings" and select the "advanced tab" to access the "proxy" option.
  5. Enter your domain name (e.g. www.mydomain.com) in the exceptions box.

    That should do the job.

What version of Perl is supported on your NT server?
Our servers are all installed with ActivePerl Win32-Alpha/Intel built 6.16.
Our Perl is located in C:\perl\bin.
Our servers are installed with ActivePerl from
ActiveState.
Our policy is to maintain updated copies of Perl at all times.

How can I make use of your ColdFusion Server?
ColdFusion is available on all our Windows based servers. You will need to upload your .CFM files to access the ColdFusion server. However you may have upload restrictions based on your hosting package.  

Please note CFLOCK must be implemented in your Coldfusion scripts, and we have also disabled certain tags for security reasons. Please contact our tech support for more details.

My cgi's don't run on your server, help!
In order to run your cgi's on our server you need to ensure that:
- your account has custom bin access.
- your cgi files are perl files (*.pl)
- your perl files are for NT based servers.
- You know the correct path to your folders. (e.g.:
i:\usr\domain_name\bin\custom\)

Does your server support SSI scripts?
YES our servers support SSI scripts on your webpages; however you need to rename your html files to *.shtml in order to get your "server side include" scripts executed on your html pages.

I have uploaded my perl files, but they won't work.
Please ensure that:
- You have the correct DOS path (e.g.: i:\usr\whatever\bin\custom).
- Your file extension are "pl" or "cgi". File names ending with pl and cgi are associated with Perl.
- You have uploaded your scripts in text mode (not binary mode).
- Your "../bin/custom folder has been activated.

I would like to upload my cgi files, however my FTP account does not allow me to, what went wrong?
You must have your /CUSTOM folder activated. Please contact our Administrator for further details on your access rules. You may only upload files ending with *.pl or .cgi (perl files). The following file extensions are not valid: exe, dll, bat, com, ini.

May I use a different file extension for my virtual server?
All new accounts created support multiple index support. You upload either "index.htm, index.html, index.shtml (required for SSI) index.aspx or default.asp.

What is my pop3 and smtp server?
Your settings should be as follows.

Help! I lost my password, what should I do now?
If you lost your password you can sent us an email (custcare@iwi.com.sg) to request a reset of your password.

Please note however the request must come from an existing email address in your domain or from the domain's registered email address.

My Mailbox is full of spam mails!
Please sent us a copy of the mail that you have received at
(custcare@iwi.com.sg), we will investigate and ban the originator of the mail if needed.

Is my mailbox protected from viruses?
Yes, We currently scan incoming mails for viruses to your mailbox. For more security measures, you may like to ensure that you have also installed a anti-virus protection e.g. Norton Anti-virus on your system to protect against viruses.
